Children
(under 5s)
At Christ Church our vision for the children’s work is to provide comprehensive, unified and relevant groups and events, that equips and challenges children to live inspirational lives, that are grounded in the Gospel and are on fire for God. We want to inspire a dynamic and creative leadership team, who are supported in ministry, servant-hearted in leadership, and dedicated to building God’s Kingdom in the hearts and minds of a new generation, as part of a vibrant wider church.
Sundays
We aim to walk alongside children of all ages as they grow in relationship with Jesus and spend time with friends in group time, we provide a fun, safe environment to learn and ask questions.
We recognise that all of the children are on their own personal journey, and we aim to meet their needs where they are. We also encourage children to become involved in the wider life of the church.
Our groups are very welcoming and open to all, we strive to make our groups accessible to children with additional needs, for more information contact Laura Ottewell or the Office.
Sunday Groups
These take place on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month
Explorers (0 – 3.5 years)
Parents are welcome to stay with or leave their children as they wish. Toys are provided for all ages. We engage babies and toddlers through play, stories and craft, to share the Good News of Jesus. We engage the children with fun, singing songs and enjoying playing alongside the children. We build trusting relationships with parents/carers and babies/children and support parents and babies/toddlers with moving towards independence.
Discoverers (3.5 years – Reception)
Our aim is to enable the children to get to build on their introduction to Jesus and discover more about how Jesus works in their lives. We strive to provide a safe and fun environment. We engage the children with free play, spending time together singing, sharing a Bible story, praying, enjoying craft time and playing games.
Adventurers (Years 1 – 6)
In Adventurers we all learn together! Adult helpers and children walking alongside each other as we discover more about Jesus and how to make and keep him at the centre of our lives. We work in Year Groups but also have All Together time which includes a time of sung worship, teaching and prayer, and Small Group time which will focus on asking questions, digging deeper into the theme of the week, and sharing individual experiences with God. There will be challenge time, activities, games, craft, videos, singing, dancing and FUN!
